Covina Shooting Leaves 1 Man Injured

Late Wednesday, evening at about 10:40 pm, police were called to a possible shooting that occurred at a Covina hotel. The hotel staff called the police reporting that they heard gun shots coming from one of the hotel rooms according to police. When officers arrived at the crime scene, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to his torso. The 32-year-old victim was immediately taken to the hospital and is expected after he was rushed into surgery. According to police at the scene, there were no arrests in connection with the shooting of the man. However, police did arrest Ivan Lascano in connection with some stolen property from the victim’s motel room. The possible suspect is being held on $20,000 bail and will await trial in jail unless he is bailed out. Police report that the man connected with the stolen property is the only lead they have on the shooting case. Detectives will continue to investigate the shooting and try to find a connection between the man arrested and the shooting. Police are asking anybody with information about the shooting to contact the Covina Police Department immediately.
